Mel Appleby

Head of Projects

Mel studied for a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art Painting at Wimbledon School of Art.

Her first employment within the industry was at the Victoria and Albert Museum where she cut her teeth as a Design Outsource Manager.

Having built a wealth of experience of high quality exhibitions at the V&A her next appointment was as Gallery Manager at The MK Gallery where she served the community working with partners locally, nationally and internationally to bring the best cultural activities and exhibitions into the gallery.

Her final stop before she arrived at Scott Fleary was as Production Manager for the Imperial War Museum where she managed a team of Project Managers delivering the high-quality exhibitions both in London, Manchester, Nationally and Internationally, that the IWM is famous for.

Mel’s eye for detail is second to none and having served on the client side of our industry she is the perfect foil for setting the expectation levels for what our clients justifiably deserve.

In her spare time juggling being a Mum to two young children she can be found restoring vintage furniture whilst listening to heavy metal.
